Category: Issues (Page 1 of 2)

Let’s talk about the issues. Specifically, our back issues.

Season’s Cretins, it’s Issue 108!

Just under some sort of proverbial ‘wire,’ we’re back with a new ish!

Did we almost miss another year? Yes, we came very close.

Should you be surprised by that? Depends, how long have you been reading NFATB?

Our 33rd anniversary is right around the corner. Will we commemorate it, or miss it entirely like we did the 32nd? Stick around and find out!

News From Around the Bend is best read when printed double-sided on colored paper (we even leave gaps in the corners for the staple!), but you are welcome to print or read the whole issue right now any way you see fit.

31st Anniversary Issue!

Whoa, did we just actually publish an anniversary issue in the right month? Wonders never cease around here! As the world continues to basically get worse at every single thing the world does, you can count on NFATB to be here doing what IT does. (Please note I did not say whether we get better or worse at it.)

Check out the new ish below and I’ll see you back here soonish. Stay safe wherever you are.

106, just in time for ’22

I’m as surprised as you are, but here we are again, after a long gap, with Issue #106 in hand! I pulled so much content for THIS issue that the NEXT one is nearly done already, so expect that soon, barring the types of unexpected delays the last two years have gotten us all very much accustomed to expecting. Here’s a quick sample:

Check out the new ish below and I’ll see you back here soonish. Stay safe wherever you are, and to those who celebrate: Happy New Year!

Issue 105: NFATB Is Alive

Last time I put out a new issue, I promised to be back again soon with another. This maybe wasn’t quite as back-to-back as I’d intended, but here we are with #105.

This issue was largely assembled alongside #104 – I pulled so much new content for that one that it turned out to be more than two issues’ worth – so this issue is a spiritual twin to that one.

A reminder that there’s also NEW MUSIC available via bandcamp – head over to Acoustic Ross Dot (as they say) Com for details. Live at San Quarantine (Volume 1) is out, and Volume 2 will be coming your way very soon on the heels of this new NFATB. Did you notice the previously unreleased tracks I posted straight to the website last year? They’re all still there too.

Two new issues in 2020, a living room concert for RSU Radio, a live EP with another to follow – this ridiculous year has at least been somewhat productive so far.

Stay safe wherever you are, and for Pete’s sake, wear a mask when you go out. Check out the new ish below and I’ll see you back here soonish.

Suddenly, Without Warning: Issue 104.

It’s funny, last time I posted a new issue, I complained about how crappy the previous year was. I specifically used the phrase “not a good year around here.”

Well. That turned out to be a bit more evergreen than I intended.

But never mind that for now – we’re back with a brand-new issue! Issue 104 lands in the midst of a pandemic, which probably says something about the amount of free time I’ve had the last 6-8 weeks. In that time I’ve been working The Day Job, thankful to still have one, and have now knocked out a shut-in concert for a local college radio station (the one that astoundingly still keeps me in rotation after 18 freaking YEARS), and now a brand-new NFATB after more than a year away.

And I’ll tell you a little secret about both of those things.

A) There are more such live-from-my-office concert recordings coming soon.
2) When pulling items for this issue, I pulled WAAYYY too many.
iii) I’ve dug back into the archives past the current ‘relaunch’ era that started with #98 back in 2017.

Annotations:
#A) means you should keep an eye over at Acoustic Ross Dot (as they say) Com in the very near future.
#2) means I changed up my counting system in this list, but also that instead of having enough material for one issue, I’ve assembled two with some leftovers for a third. Issue #105 will not require a long wait at all.
#iii) means that I should have just done unnumbered bullet points, but also that you’ll start seeing older issues (anywhere from #1 thru #97) starting to show up here on the web in PDF form. With a few exceptions at the end of that part of the run – the ‘all-digital’ issues 95-97 – that’s going to require quite a bit of scanning and cleaning, but those will be coming here SOON too.

Anyway. That’s more than enough ado for now. Check out the new ish below and I’ll see you back here soonish.

Issue 103? Will Wonders Never Cease?

We’re back! Yes, I think we can all agree that 2018 mostly stunk. I mean seriously. Not a good year around here. BUT we can forget about all that now, we’re back from another hiatus (only a tenth as long as the last one!) with brand-spanking-new Issue 103, and it’s time to celebrate. So grab your favorite beverage (warm or cold, depending on your current longitudinal coordinates), sit back, and enjoy.

JUST under the wire, it’s Issue 102!

We’re back! Issue 102 is here, just in time to wrap up another ridiculous year. That makes FIVE issues this year – not too shabby for a return from hibernation.
